Fangirls, I hope it’s not too graphic to say that I’ve been moaning in pleasure since this album came out on the 30th.
I think it’s important that you know, before we get too deep here, that I love so much about Dylan Saunders; but I love nothing as passionately as I love his voice. There was a time when I said, “I want to rub it all over me like body wash,” about it. And that was the level of my standards for this album.
My expectation for Confluence was blown out of the water.
Holy guacamole, Fangirls, this is amazing. I woke up super early for a dumb project I had to do to find out that my pre-order of Confluence was available on my phone, and I lost my mind. I went and started listening to it immediately. I have yet to stop.
The album was crowd funded through kickstarter about a year ago. He put a lot of time and effort into this, and listening to it, you can really hear it. Originally, my favorite song on the album was No Pressure, but that has since changed to Say My Name and Nothing to do Here but Live.
There are 11 songs on Confluence, and they’re all fantastic and unique. All of the songs are positive and fun; some are up beat, and others very mellow. My favorite thing about them all is how overwhelmingly positive they are. In No Pressure, Saunders tells us there’s no pressure. Let your thoughts out, ask out that lady you’ve been interested in, do what you want, because you can’t go wrong. From what I’ve been hearing, music has been getting more and more positive, at least about the artist. But with this album and his single with Jim & the Povolos, Loved and Alive, Dylan Saunders is really doing a fantastic job of promoting self positivity.
If you haven’t picked up Confluence yet, get on it. It’s beautiful and soothing and I can’t stop listening to it.
